JOHN M. CLOCHESY, Ph.D., CDP

John M. ClochesyJohn’s professional interest includes creating safe learning and work environments by supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives. He has consulted for a variety of educational, governmental and healthcare institutions, and manufacturing companies across the country. John received a B.S.N. from Marian College, a M.S. from the University of Wisconsin, and a Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University. He has also completed the masters degree program in Diversity Management at Cleveland State University. Additionally, John has completed various workshops and training programs at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, the Public Conversations Project, and the Future Search Network. He is a certified Crucial Conversations trainer.

Teona C. Griggs, M.Ed., MA

Teona C. GriggsTeona Griggs is the Assistant Director of Student Services and Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University.

Teona has been with the School of Nursing at Case for more than 20 years, and have developed a strong interest in educational awareness, access and equity issues regarding students of color. In addition to providing day-to-day direction of the Student Services departmental activities, Teona is also responsible for the recruitment and retention of nursing students of color. Teona has received federal funding to support nursing students from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. She is also a certified Crucial Conversations trainer, and facilitates diversity workshops for faculty and students in the school of nursing.

Teona received a B.A. from Capital University, a M.Ed. from Cleveland State University, focusing on Adult Learning and Development, and is a recent graduate of Cleveland State University’s Diversity Management Program, earning an M.A. degree.

Lourdes Negrón-McDaniel

Lourdes Negron-McDanielLourdes Negrón-McDaniel works for the Cuyahoga County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (CCBMRDD) in the capacities of Developmental Specialist, Internal Diversity Trainer, and chair for the internal Hispanic Committee. Lourdes has provided services and supports to individuals with disabilities in various capacities, with the most current position focused on infants and toddlers and early intervention services. Being centrally located in a community health clinic in the Hispanic community enabled Lourdes to partner with hospitals, doctors, social workers, and community-based organizations; in order to create an effective bilingual/ bicultural early intervention program for Hispanic families in the community. This successful outreach grew to include all age groups in need of developmental services and supports.

Lourdes is very active in community issues and has participated in numerous projects ranging from childhood immunizations, early literacy, education, fatherhood initiatives, youth development initiatives, immigration, diversity awareness and others. Lourdes represents the Board in the Hispanic Alliance Inc., and currently serves as the coordinator for this organization. Additionally, Lourdes continues to train both internally and externally along issues relating to diversity, disability, and communication issues, as well as other capacity building and strategic planning processes. Training topics of particular interest to Lourdes include communicating across differences, collaborative conflict management, disability as a dimension of diversity, racial identity development, and social justice issues.

Lourdes received a B.A. in Social Work from the University of Toledo, an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Cleveland State University, and an M.A. in Psychology with a specialization in Diversity Management from Cleveland State University.
